The collaboration with the Freud’s Dream Museum, Saint Petersburg, Russia, opens a channel of communication between two cultures with an old tradition, orthodox Christian affinity and perspectives of contemplating the contemporary world through art and science. The choice of presenting the contemporary art exhibition “DIE KUNST IST EIN AUSWEG BEI SEXUELLEN PROBLEMEN”, based on the legendary phrase of Sigmund Freud, brings art and psychoanalysis into an interactive embrace of creative exploration. The subjects of psychoanalysis and contemporary art occupy the artistic search of the Contemporary Art Museum of Chania - Olivepress for the umpteenth time. Already with the large group exhibition of the museum in 2013, entitled “When Cinderella met Dr Freud”, with the participation of 50 Greek and international artists, the exploration of the unconscious and the allegory governing psychoanalysis and art found a fertile field of exploratory development. The exhibition in Saint Petersburg aided by the Freud’s Dream Museum looks like a natural consequence of a long-lasting engagement with the phenomena of the soul and the expressions of art.
